After Jax consults Jimmy O, SAMCRO believes Abel remained in Vancouver when Cameron left for Belfast. Father Ashby's sister Maureen, contacts Gemma at Ashby's request to tell her Abel is safe in Belfast. Upon learning of her grandson's abduction, Gemma suffers an arrhythmia and collapses in the lot of Teller-Morrow. Tara confides in Gemma that she is six weeks pregnant with Jax's child. Jax makes a deal with Stahl behind SAMCRO's back. In exchange for his mother's freedom and the downgrade of the pending weapons charges against the club, Jax will deliver Jimmy O and his IRA contacts. Oswald agrees to smuggle the Sons to Belfast. Jax breaks up with Tara and the next morning Tara walks in on Jax in bed with pornstar Ima.

The recently ousted and humiliated former president of the Calaveras MC, Hector Salazar, begins surveilling Jax and Tara. After finding out that John Teller had an affair in Belfast that produced a daughter, Gemma escapes from police custody with the help of Tara and her boss, Margaret. Tara and Lyla both make appointments at an abortion clinic. Gemma leaves with SAMCRO on their trip to Belfast to find Abel, where Jimmy O already anticipates their arrival.

On SAMCRO's arrival in Ireland, Ashby tells Jax that the IRA are tired of Jimmy's profiteering ways, and suggests Jax kills him in exchange for Abel.

Stahl helps Jax uncover information on Ashby and SAMBEL, and warns him not to kill Jimmy O. SAMCRO plans to surprise Jimmy O on a protection run, but he is forewarned and attacks the Sons with a planted bomb that kills several SAMBEL members. SAMCRO tortures Liam until he reveals that he was privy to Jimmy O's plans, as was McGee. Jax kills him, and shortly after Clay pushes McGee from a rooftop, both revealed to SAMBEL as traitors. Ashby tells Jax the location of Abel, but suggests Jax allow him to be adopted so he is not forced into the club life. Jax chooses to leave the child with the family, until Jimmy O kills the adoptive parents and abducts Abel, intending to exchange him for safe passage to America. Abel is returned to Jax after Ashby trades himself for the baby.

Jacob Hale Jr. uses intimidation tactics to continue urban development in Charming. Salazar abducts Tara and Margaret on their way to the abortion clinic. He informs Piney that he will return them in exchange for the murder of Alvarez and $250,000. Under the influence of Jacob Hale Jr, the San Joaquin Sherriff Department will soon take control of the Charming Police Department. Tara attacks Salazar's girlfriend and negotiates Margaret's freedom. Later, Salazar's girlfriend dies.

With the hearing for weapons charges looming, SAMCRO returns to Charming, with the task of finding Tara. Gemma threatens to reveal Stahl's murder of Edmond unless she ends her dealings with Jax. Salazar takes Jacob Hale Jr hostage along with Tara. Unser indicates the need for Salazar to be captured alive to implicate Hale and save Charming Police Department, but during a stand-off, Jax kills Salazar. Amidst the chaos, Stahl intentionally shoots her partner Tyler to protect her lie. Opie proposes to Lyla. Now in the USA, Jimmy O seeks the help of the Russians to aid his escape to South America. Stahl falsely tells Internal Affairs that Agent Tyler shot Edmond and framed Gemma, admitting that Gemma was wrongfully charged.

Jax and the Sons meet the Russians paying $2 million for the exchange of Jimmy O, although it is counterfeit. Jax tells Stahl the location of the exchange so she can intervene and arrest Jimmy, but Jimmy is moved to a different location before she can. Jax assures her that he will give her Jimmy if she reduces their prison sentence, to which she agrees. Stahl arrives at the clubhouse to arrest Jimmy. When Clay asks how she knew he was there, Stahl indicates that Jax was a rat, at which the club is outraged, calling Jax a "dead man". SAMCRO is arrested and loaded into an ATF van, with Jax feeling isolated.

Unser stops Stahl on the roadside as she transports Jimmy and warns her of an IRA threat further down the road. Her fellow agents leave to investigate, leaving her alone with Unser and Jimmy. Soon after, Piney, Chibs, Opie and Kozik arrive. Chibs gives Jimmy a Glasgow smile, and then kills him. Opie kills Stahl, after reminding her that she was responsible for Donna's death, killing her in a similar fashion. Proof of Jax's dealings with Stahl is destroyed, leaving the club with the documents provided by Stahl to reduce their sentence. The scene is set to look like the IRA are responsible. In the ATF van, Jax learns of Stahl and Jimmy's demise as the prospects following the ATF van ride past and beep a morse code signal "A-F-F-A" (Angels Forever, Forever Angels) conjectured to be a tribute to Angels founder, Sonny Barger, who plays Lenny the Pimp in the show. He smiles, as do the rest of SAMCRO, revealing that the club knew of Jax's plan from the beginning. Tara, meanwhile, finds and reads the letters Maureen had put in Jax's bag. In them, John Teller writes to Mo of his awareness of Gemma and Clay's closeness and his fear that he will soon be murdered by the two. The season ends with Jax rejecting his father's original vision for SAMCRO and embracing Clay's rule.

Lovely Singh (Salman Khan) is the bodyguard of Sartaj Rana's (Raj Babbar) daughter Divya Rana (Kareena Kapoor). He is very devoted to his duties but irritates her all the time by following her everywhere. Consequently, Divya and her friend (Hazel Keech) call Lovely and start a prank love affair. Lovely starts loving the mystery person but doesn't realizes that it is Divya (who also falls in love with him) who was behind all of this. Sartaj Rana suspects him and Divya to be in love and sends criminals to kill him in case his lover turns out to be Divya. Sensing this, Divya sends her friend to Lovely to tell him her true identity. In a twist, it is revealed that the friend is also in love with Lovely. She falsely accepts that she is her strange lover. They marry and have a child. When the gates of Hell appear in Karakura Town and strange spirits called Unforgiven (Togabito) escape, Rukia Kuchiki and Renji Abarai are sent to investigate. Ichigo Kurosaki's family is targeted by the Unforgiven, who are led by Shuren, and Ichigo's younger sister Yuzu Kurosaki is abducted. An Unforgiven named Kokutō saves Karin Kurosaki from being abducted as well, and convinces Ichigo to accompany him and the Soul Reapers to Hell to save her.

On the journey to Hell, Ichigo's Hollow mask begins to spontaneously manifest and Kokutō warns him to avoid using it lest he lose control and hollowfy entirely. Ichigo, Rukia, Renji, Ishida, and Kokutō battle Shuren and the other Unforgiven, and it becomes apparent that Shuren plans to use Ichigo's hollow powers to escape Hell. After Shuren and the other Unforgiven are defeated, Kokutō betrays Ichigo and reveals he was the true leader of the Unforgiven and the one behind Yuzu's kidnapping. Kokutō kills Yuzu and an enraged Ichigo hollowfies, blasting Kokutō with his Cero, destroying most of the chains binding Kokutō to Hell and burning through the gates of Hell.

Renji breaks Ichigo's Hollow mask and grabs Yuzu's corpse while they are extracted by Soul Society, but Rukia, Renji, and Ishida are captured. When Yuzu spontaneously revives, Ichigo, despite being forbidden to do so by Soul Society, returns to Hell to rescue his friends and confronts Kokutō, who killed Renji and Ishida and was torturing Rukia. Resisting hollowfication, Ichigo undergoes a transformation after being given power by the Hell guardians, becoming covered in bones, and defeats Kokutō, bringing his friends back to life and escaping Hell as the gates repair themselves and vanish.

Carli organizes a fashion show for charity; the boys provide their unique brand of help. To raise money for an ill student named Alistair who is suffering from kidney disease and uses a wheelchair, Rudge Park hosts a fashion show with students as models. Simon, having been asked by Carli to model, practises his walking in a bid to impress her. Jay, angered that he has not been asked to model, pierces his ear in the hope of getting a "reserve" spot. Neil agrees to help out backstage in order to see the female students changing but finds out he is only helping the male models with the unwanted attention of Mr "Paedo" Kennedy. Will is forced to collect donated money, despite disagreeing with "vain" fashion shows, as just something for popular kids, but changes his mind when Charlotte Hinchcliffe arrives to model and asks him to model with her. He competes with the irritating wheelchair-using boy for Charlotte's attention and manages to model quite successfully, but is downhearted when Charlotte says she would never go out with him again after. Jay's pierced ears become infected and he has to leave the fashion show for hospital. Carli, impressed by Simon's modelling, asks him to replace her modelling partner Chris Yates who was revealed to have a "disgustingly" hairy back, wearing just Speedos. Simon, despite being worried that he will get an erection over Carli in the revealing Speedos, agrees when he sees Carli in her revealing outfit. He concentrates hard on not getting an erection, but because of this, he fails to notice his testicle hanging out of the side of his Speedos, and shows it to the whole school. n an attempt to woo an attractive girl from the year below (Tara), Simon agrees to go with her to see the band Failsafe at a pub. He further tries to impress Tara by telling her he will bring cannabis to the concert. The group take drugs, and all react differently. Neil takes sleeping tablets, Will cannot control his body movements, Jay is dazed and confused, and Tara throws up on Simon. In another one of his lies, Jay claims he can get drugs anytime from his dealer. When Simon asks Jay for some cannabis, Jay tells him that his dealer has gone to Afghanistan to get harder drugs, despite having told Simon 15 minutes ago that he could easily get hold of some. In order to regain his friends' trust after his string of lies in the past, Jay goes to Donovan for some weed, but is given tea and accepts it out of fear. As a subplot, Will and Simon stop believing Jay's "bullshit claims" after his dad rumbles one of his stories about having sex in a caravan (which does not actually happen, "Jay gets it on with the cushion"). When the boys arrive at the gig, Jay decides to prove Simon and Will by trying to get drugs at the venue. After a short search, Neil spots a dealer and he and Jay head over to him. After a short argument with the dealer, he sells them the drugs and all except Will who refuses to smoke it, and Neil who took some of his dad's sleeping medicine, smoke them out the back. While inside, Jay starts teasing Will about not taking the drugs until Will eats whats left of them. Simon accidentally injures Tara during a moshpit and while tending to her, she starts getting excited when Simon starts going "Grrr". Eventually Will starts to feel the effects of the drug and becomes frightened and loses control of his hands. When he asks for an ambulance, Jay refuses out of fear of being arrested, Neil starts falling asleep and Simon is too busy with Tara to care. With no other choice, Will gets up onstage and asks that they either call for an ambulance or his mum. He is then led off the stage by the bouncers as he looked "proper mental". When Will is being taken into the ambulance, Jay runs away in panic thinking the blue light is a police car while Simon kisses Tara, his first girlfriend. Will's mum goes away for the weekend with a college friend she recently caught up with on facebook. While Jay, Neil and Simon are walking down the street they spot a flower display. Everybody loves Phil Mickelson, and I've got to say, at the Masters he looked as fit as I've ever seen him. What did you think of his win on Sunday? And what did you make of Tiger's performance?

Mickelson's performance was incredible and touching. I didn't want to compare what he did or said to Tiger, but it was hard not to notice the contrast.

He talked about being there for his wife, who's struggling with breast cancer, and taking his daughter for an X-ray after a roller-skating accident. He said you have to be there for your family, and he broke down a little when thinking about everything they've been through recently.

I'm not a big golf fan, but it was nice to see him win - not so much for Mickelson as for his family.

That shot Mickelson hit on No. 13 - between the trees, over the creek, onto the green, to grandmother's house he went - was as amazing as any I've ever seen. Woods, for as lousy as he looked at times, still shot 11 under and finished fourth, maybe even more astounding than Mickelson's performance considering his layoff and all that was swirling around him.

Tiger Woods was confronted with a tougher crowd and more challenging conditions during the second round of the US Masters today but tamed both to remain in the chase for a fifth Green Jacket.

Tiger Woods - Playing his first event in nearly five months after admitting to a string of extra-marital affairs, Woods's game and popularity continued on an upward arc as he surged into contention with a two-under 70 to finish just two strokes behind British co-leaders Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter.

Swirling, gusty winds added bite to the Augusta National layout but did not faze Woods, whose exceptional play through two rounds to be on target for an unlikely 15th major has surprised many, but not himself.

"I felt that I could put myself in contention," Woods told reporters. "I usually put myself in contention most of the time most years here and this year I'm right there."

"We got 36 more holes and I'm sure the golf course, they are not going to make it easy for us.

"They made it easy on the first day for us and today was certainly much more difficult."

After a rousing welcome back in the opening round, Woods received a more subdued reception when he stepped onto the first tee for round two.

But by the time the American marched up the 18th fairway bathed in brilliant sunshine, the galleries were squarely back in his corner breaking into loud applause and shouts of "Go Tiger".

Woods's charm offensive continued as he worked his way around the course, tipping his hat to the cheers and passing out plenty of "thank you's".

After teeing off at the par-three sixth, he spotted a young boy wearing a baseball cap with 'TW' emblazoned on the front and put a huge grin on the youngster's face by giving him a friendly hand slap as he walked by. On the 13th, he handed a golf glove to another fan.

Woods did not have to endure any of the humiliating distractions he faced on Thursday when a small plane towing banners lampooning his scandalous affairs buzzed the golf course.

Despite the warm welcome back, the 34-year-old has much more work ahead of him and may be more likely to win another major before winning back disillusioned fans and sponsors.

He has spent Masters week determined to push the spotlight away from his philandering to his play and appeared to be winning that battle. Every question asked in his post-round interview focused on exploits on the course rather than in the tabloids.

"I felt more comfortable (today) because I was hitting the ball better and I was putting better, even though I didn't shoot as low a score," said Woods. "I think that's a factor of the conditions.

"But I feel like I have more control of the golf ball today from tee to green and I hit putts right on my lines.

"That's something I wasn't doing yesterday."

Augusta relaxes Mickelson

Although Phil Mickelson hasn't been at the top of his game over the last two weeks, he somehow finds a serene confidence once he begins competition at the Masters. Mickelson, a two-time champion, used a torrid three-hole stretch Thursday on the back nine of Augusta National Golf Club to come in with a 5-under-par 67 and join a five-way tie for second, a stroke behind 18-hole leader Fred Couples.

"I've been putting myself behind early in tournaments and having to almost force things," Mickelson said. "But there's just something about this place that, when I get on the golf course, I don't feel like I have to be perfect. It relaxes me. I'm able to free up my swing and let my short game save me if I make a couple of bad shots."

Mickelson, at 1-under par through 12 holes, knocked a 6-iron from 207 yards out at the par-5 13th and drained a 30-foot putt for eagle. He followed that with a 40-foot snake for birdie at No. 14, and two-putted the par-5 15th from 25 feet for another birdie.

"My expectations are high and I thought it was a good, solid start to the tournament," he said. "But it's just one [round] out of four."

Oh, what a feeling
Nathan Smith, a member of last year's victorious U.S. Walker Cup team at Merion Golf Club, admitted he was peeking at the leader boards to see his name up there.

Smith, the 2009 U.S. Mid-Amateur champion from Pittsburgh, was 2-under through 10 holes. He bogeyed the 11th and birdied the par-3 12th with a 30-foot putt to go 2-under once again, getting on the board a second time.

Smith, whose father, Larry, is his caddie, bogeyed four consecutive holes after that and finished with a 74, but he felt good afterward.

"To have your name up there on the leader board, that's special," he said. "You never dream something like that is going to happen, even if it's as brief as 10 holes or 12 holes or whatever it was. But it was a real thrill. Obviously, that was uncharted territory for me, and it was fun for a while."

Honorary starters
For the first time, Jack Nicklaus joined Arnold Palmer as an honorary starter for the Masters, both hitting a drive off the first tee.

"I went out and hit a tee shot that when I hit it, Arnold said, 'That wasn't too bad,' " Nicklaus said. "I said, 'Yeah, we heard it.' That's what we were trying to do, trying to hear the ball hit the club. As long as we don't hear it land, we are both in good shape, and that was what we did."

A smiling Palmer was still feeling the glow of an 80-foot putt he made on the final hole of Wednesday's par-3 contest.

"I was happy to make contact with the drive," Palmer said, "and the putt made my week."

Nicklaus, who won six Masters, two more than Palmer, said he never had been up that early to watch honorary starters when he was playing, beginning with Jock Hutchison and Freddie McLeod.

"I was a young player and I didn't have a clue who they were," he said, "and I'm sure that the young players have no clue who Arnold and I are."

Familiar names
After opening with nine consecutive pars, West Chester's Sean O'Hair had to work on the back nine to finish with a par 72. O'Hair bogeyed the 10th, 11th and 13th holes but managed to get back to even with the help of birdies at 15 and 17. . . . Jim Furyk suffered through a nightmarish back nine, with a triple bogey at the par-3 16th and three double bogeys, and wound up with an 80. . . . Edoardo Molinari, who won the 2005 U.S. Amateur at Merion, came in with a 76.

Incident at Comox Lake ‎

A Cormorant helicopter from 442 Squadron, at 19 Wing, and a crew from the Explosive Ordinance Disposal team with their zodiac were dispatched to Comox Lake on Thursday in Victoria to support the RCMP responding to a car in the water. A 911 call was made by a witness. Upon its arrival the Cormorant located the RCMP officers on site and proceeded to insert two Search and Rescue Technicians (SAR Tech). The SAR Tech leaped from the hovering aircraft ten feet over the water.

“Immediately after we jumped in the water, we located air bubble reaching the surface”, said Sgt Jean Tremblay, SAR Tech. “We followed the line of bubbles down to approximately 90 feet. The water was extremely dark and even at our maximum depth we couldn’t see the car.” For safety reason, it is regulation for SAR Tech not to dive deeper than 100 feet. The SAR Tech searched the area at the maximum depth and marked the location with a floating device during their asset to the surface.

While the SAR Techs were diving to the car, the Cormorant crew searched the shoreline in hope that occupants would have exited the vehicle and reached land. By then, the EOD members onboard their Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB), the RCMP helicopter and the Comox Valley Ground Search and Rescue (CV GSAR) were joining the search. “During a rescue, one of the biggest challenge is often to establish communication with multiple agencies”, said Major Jason von Kruse, aircraft commander on the Cormorant. “Thankfully today, the RCMP helicopter was instrumental in relaying information to GSAR until we could talk to them directly.”

The Cormorant retrieved the SAR Tech and their equipment by hoisting down a rescue basket to the water before returning to base. The EOD Team scanned the water with their sonar and determined the bottom of the lake was below 100 feet.

The RCMP is in charge of the search effort and the case remains open at this time.

SONY Ericsson (SE) this week showed a diverse lineup of nine new mobile phones. Fresh out of the oven is the minimalist Xperia Pureness ($798 w/o contract), featuring what SE calls the world's first mobile with a transparent LCD screen. Hidden keys only light up when touched and you can do little besides call, SMS, and listen to music.

For something more practical, try the Android-based Xperia X10, aimed at social networking addicts with its innovative Timescape (which consolidates all communications from each contact) and Mediascape functions. The X10 will be available later this month.

Those who prefer their gadgets small can hold out a while longer for the Xperia X10 mini and Xperia X10 mini pro, set for launch by June. They eschew the Mediascape function but boast a tiny credit card-sized form factor. The X10 mini comes in six hues while the pro is equipped with a slide-out keyboard.

Symbian fans can opt for the HD-video recording Vivaz ($798, without contract) and Vivaz Pro phones, which can upload pictures and videos to Facebook, Picasa and YouTube. A demonstration showed a 1.2MB photo being uploaded to Facebook in a couple of seconds.

The 8.1-megapixel Vivaz is already available, while its Pro counterpart - available here soon - features a slide-out keyboard and 5.1-megapixel camera.

I Prevent My Kids From Taking Drugs

Don’t want your kid to wind up in an addiction treatment center? There are no guarantees, but some steps are more effective than others. I would hope there aren’t too many parents unaware that their kids are introduced to drugs fairly early on and that a good percentage will try them out. It can happen to kids from every type of family: rich or poor, blue collar or white, mid-city dwellers, residents of idyllic small towns where everyone shows up for the local high school baseball games, and even farming communities.

Even kids who would never consider taking drugs are actually taking them without even fully realizing it. They’re the ones who are taking prescription drugs they got from their parents’ or friends’ medicine cabinets. They don’t see that as ‘taking drugs’ – they’re ‘medicine’, and they’re safe because they came from a doctor and because their parents take them. They also don’t realize they’re doing anything illegal.

Nevertheless, these drugs are dangerous and cause prescription drug addiction.

How can you prevent your kids from taking drugs? While there are no guarantees, there are some things that have proven to reduce the chances.

One of the most effective actions is teaching your kids about drugs. Kids whose parents talk to them about drugs are 50% less likely to take them.

How do you do that? First, you have to learn about them yourself – although you don’t have to wait until you’re a total expert to start passing on the information to your kids.

Learn about the most common street drugs and about prescription drugs. There is a wealth of information on the Internet about them – including all the names the drugs go by on the street so you can recognize what they’re talking about if you overhear a conversation. Often kids are offered something and told it’s not a drug. They have no idea what they taking.

For example, there’s a type of heroin becoming quite common with kids. It’s mixed with ground up cold-medicine and is called ‘cheese.’ Crack cocaine is sometimes called ‘beans.’ MDMA pills are also known as ‘batmans.’ OxyContin, one of the deadliest and most addictive prescription painkillers, is called ’40,’ ‘cotton’, or ‘OCs.’ Search the Internet for ‘slang names for drugs’ and you’ll find more.

Take every opportunity to bring up the subject of drugs with your kids. When you’re watching TV and a drug ad comes on, point out the side effects of the drug and tell your kid more about them.

Follow news stories about celebrities. When someone famous, especially someone your kid admires, goes to an addiction treatment center, or if they die, go over what happened with that person, find out as many specifics as you can, and explain it to your kids.

If they play sports, get a list of sports figures who have been suspended or booted off the team because of drugs or have needed addiction treatment. Find out about the drugs most used by athletes, tell your kids why they use them, what positive effects they create, and the negative effects.

Also go over with them why people take drugs – to feel better, for ‘kicks’, to enhance their performance, to help them study, to fit in better with their peers, and so on. Teach them about alternatives to drugs in these various situations, and how to say no.

Find people they admire who do not take drugs. There are plenty of celebrities and sports figures who speak out against drugs. Find out who they are and use them as back-up.

Another thing that goes a long way to preventing drug use is being involved in your kids’ life. Have dinner with them, plan outings and vacations, participate in their school and extra-curricular activities. Have their friends over and make them part of your extended family. And get to know their friends’ parents.

These days you also have to be especially cautious about prescription drugs. Lock them up; don’t leave them where your kids, or their friends, can be tempted.

No matter how much you try to teach your kids, participate in their lives, and protect them from unsavory friends, it’s likely there will always be one kid in their circle who’s drug-oriented. Start teaching them as early as eight or ten years old, and keep it up right through college (where they’ll be exposed to even more drugs.)

Stay up to date yourself, and keep a constant eye on things. You could save your kids’ lives, and save the entire family from years of misery and heartache.

The HD world has changed dramatically over the past few years. Many believe the gap between film and digital video has been closed with the advent of new ultra-high resolution, 35mm-sized, single-chip HD cameras that offer superior color reproduction and exposure latitude comparable to 35mm. All professional filmstyle HD cameras are capable of true progressive frame, 24 frames-per-second (24p) capture and provide other film-style features, such as multiple frame rates, variable shutter and cine-like gamma curves that mimic the tonal qualities of film. In addition, all of these cameras accept 35mm film lenses and accessories (some require adaptors such as the P+S Technik Pro35 and Mini35) which assures the exact same focal lengths and relatively shallow depth-of-field associated with 35mm optics.

The movie industry has changed radically over the past decade. Now there are distribution opportunities for small independents that never existed before. Indies have already proven that they too can be successful and profitable at the box office. While HD cameras are now affordable and in the hands of many independent filmmakers, the rules still stand that to be successful in the movie market, you need to make good films. Film festivals and internet sites like YOUTUBE have opened the doors to Indy filmmakers, providing easy access to large audiences. The number of film festivals around the world has exploded, from a handful to literally thousands and each festival receives hundreds and thousands of entries. Both Panavision and Arriflex have joined the digital revolution, recognizing the increased demand for digital acquisition, especially in TV and Indy film production where budgets are tight. A typical 100-minute low-budget feature production will save over $150,000 shooting HD versus 35mm and save $50,000 over 16mm. On a low-budget production, these cost savings are significant.

The digital workflow has taken over film in many areas, especially in post-production. Almost all editing today is performed on non-linear systems and the vast majority of special effects are created through a digital pipeline. In addition, HD is becoming the universal format for distribution, including HD television broadcast and home entertainment (HD-DVD and Blu-Ray HD players are now on the market). HD theatrical distribution will soon follow. Currently, the movie industry spends close to a billion dollars per year on prints, shipping, insurance and other costs, all of which will be eliminated with satellite distribution of HD films for 4K/HD projection. The projected cost savings to the movie industry is enormous and will ultimately be the driving force that will propel the world into HD exhibition.

Exhibitors will also benefit from HD projectors that are solid state and require little maintenance. Pricing on HD projectors will drop dramatically with economies of scale and will quickly be amortized considering the significant savings in operating costs compared to 35mm projection. For example, showtimes can be programmed into digital projectors allowing automatic start and full automation, thus eliminating the need for projectionists and saving theater owners time in training, salaries and expensive worker's compensation premiums. Landmark Theaters has already begun the process of installing HD projectors into many of their theaters and others are following suit. Conservative estimates suggest that 50% of all theaters in the United States will be converted to HD projection within the next five to seven years and over 80% within the next ten years.

HD offers several distinct advantages over film during shooting, such as immediate playback and monitoring of your finished image. LUT's are used to define different looks for the film or the final look of the film print and output that look onto a high-definition display. LUT's can be saved for future film projects or episodes should you want to replicate a similar look. Camera settings can also be saved for future projects so that you can match a particular look exactly (very handy for TV series production). HD monitoring allows you to catch things and make corrections on the fly, while you are in the moment. HD cameras excel over 35mm at locations where you have mixed light sources and don't have the luxury of setting up your own controlled lighting. HD cameras can white balance, film cannot. HD also excels over film in the effects world, where it is possible to view green and blue screen composites on the set, fine-tune alignments in real-time, and give the director a close representation of the finished product.

While there are many who continue to argue that HD is, and will always be, inferior to film, the truth is an HD feature properly lit and exposed looks very close to 35mm and the aesthetic difference is virtually transparent to the audience. Your average movie patron really doesn't know or care what format the film was shot in. All they really care about, and all that really matters ultimately, is that they are entertained. A great story with the right cast and skillful directing goes a long way and it certainly stands to reason that as more people become used to watching HD films, the "look" of HD will become the accepted "norm".

The writing is on the wall. Film will still be the format of choice for a while, especially on large budget features, but eventually one could certainly speculate that the entire process of making films will be entirely digital.

During February 2009, results of a joint American-British study concluded that 1/3 of most common cancer cases in the U.S. to be preventable by making healthy choices. Next to avoiding smoking, a healthy lifestyle is the most effective thing you can do to prevent cancer.

Dr. Tim Byers of the University of Colorado at Denver, stated that even though estimating cancer preventability is very complex and involves making some assumptions, the figures in the report are as good an estimate as possible about the number of cases that could be prevented through healthy diet, regular physical activity and maintaining a healthy weight.

At the AICR (American Institute for Cancer Research) Conference 2008, 400 people attended and participated in prevention topics such as: potential risks and benefits of specific dietary supplements, how changing eating and physical activity may affect cancer survivorship and effective ways to get people to adopt healthy behaviors and stick to them. Certain nutrients found in food that can change how a person’s genes function to influence cancer risk were also discussed.

The AICR urges people to eat a healthy diet that includes a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and beans. Here, you will also get your nutrients, fiber and cancer fighting phytochemicals.

The cancer preventing benefits found in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cabbage and bok choy have been well known. Allium vegetables like onion, garlic, shallots, scallions and chives contain sulphur compounds called organosulfides which are touted for providing heart health, stimulating immunity, warding off infection and deactivating carcinogens. According to research, this compound also seems to help prevent cells from mutating and tumors from forming. In general, the foods of the Allium family decrease inflammation and protect against stomach and colorectal cancers.

Robert S. Chapkin, Ph.D., presented the conference data describing how omega-3 fatty acids may prevent colon tumors. At first, the omega-3 fatty acids in fish were linked with lower risk of heart disease. Now, research at the cellular level is beginning to reveal a possible link with lower risk of cancer. Sources of omega-3 fatty acids include: oily fish such as salmon and tuna, flax seed/oil and walnuts which contain ALA-alpha-linolenic acid which slows the growth of breast cancer cells.

Dr. Zeke Emanuel, an oncologist and director of bioethics at the National Institutes of Health emphasized the need for people to keep their weight in a healthy range. •Limit consumption of salty foods and foods processed with salt (sodium).

•It is best for mothers to breastfeed exclusively for up to 6 months and then add other liquids and foods.
•After treatment, cancer survivors should follow the recommendations for cancer prevention.
